Eltima Virtual Serial Port Driver emulates serial RS232 ports whenever all the system ports are already bussy or there's no more harware ports available, and user needs more communication serial ports.
The application creates virtual serial RS232 ports with exactly the same as real serial ports, supporting all the signal lines and settings. These virtual ports can be created during runtime, without the need to reboot the system. Applications that work with real serial ports will never feel any difference when using these virtual ports. They also appear real for Windows operating system. The application is Windows Vista compatible.
User can connect several pairs of applications simultaneously, via a virtual null modem cable. On any side of the virtual connection, users can create virtual ports settings, including all hardware signal lines, connected any way users (or the application) needs: DTR, DSR, CTS, RTS, DCD andRI. The application also includes 'Line break' emulation, which is very interesting for testing hardware that is supposed to work correctly when line break happens. Application supplies different virtual null modem schemes or connections: standard, loopback and custom.
The virtual created serial ports can run with any name user may want to use (by default, the application will create 'COMn' ports with numbers following the real ones installed).
Publishers offer OEM licenses for including this software in the user applications to be distributed.
There's no limit on the number of virtual serial port pairs that user can create. Every pair of virtual ports will appear as connected via virtual null modem cable.
The application includes baudrate emulation for those applications with fixed speed settings. |
